Turmeric has been shown in research studies to stop inflammation and out perform most over the counter drugs for pain. Turmeric (aka curcumin) stops inflammation by stopping the inflammatory process in the cells. When inflammation occurs, Nf-kB is activated which turns on the inflammatory process in the cells which becomes chronically elevated. Research has shown that turmeric stops the Nf-kB activation in the cell. It is important to note that the best form of turmeric to use is liposomal turmeric, not powdered turmeric. Liposomal turmeric was shown to be 8 times more effective than powdered turmeric.
